Here is a collection of short video clips, showing what places in Stalbridge used to look like, and what they look like today.
We are indebted to the generosity of the owners of the old photographs of Stalbridge for giving us their permission to display them here, so that the residents of Stalbridge can see their town as it used to be and compare it with how it looks today. This resource will hopefully grow to be an important record of our past and present, and important source of education for young and old.

STALBRIDGE HIGH STREET IN THE LATE 19th CENTURY AND IN 2014.
THE FARTHEST BUILDING YOU CAN SEE IS NOW BRAINWAVE CHARITY SHOP AND THE CHINESE TAKEAWAY
The Crown Pub seems to be clad in wooden scaffolding, and note how the post and rail pavement guards line the street
on either side, which seems a bit over the top, but would be a useful Health & Safety measure today, with our busy High Street

THE TOP OF CHURCH HILL IN THE LATE 19th CENTURY AND IN 2014.
Like a lot of properties in Stalbridge, the thatched and stone roofs have been replaced with tiles,
along with the bay window of what was probably a shop.
