Having suffered the roadworks in the run up to Christmas residents of Barrow Hill are unlikely to be cheering the news that Wessex Water are returning on 15th January to dig it up again...They have applied to close part of BARROW HILL, STALBRIDGE, from its junction with Wood Lane eastwards to a point approximately 35 metres east of its junction with Park Road, a total distance of approximately 50 metres. The closure has been requested to allow Wessex Water to make a final connection between their existing water main and their new water main in the highway. These works are programmed to start on Monday 15 January 2018 for 5 days, with an end date of Friday 19 January 2018. The road closure is necessary for safety reasons, as the works will take place within the whole width of the carriageway. Please note that during this road closure access to Park Road will only be available from Park Grove.
Wessex Water will publicise the road closure in a number of ways: they will place information boards on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the works; they will carry out a letter drop to local residents directly affected by the works; and they will sign a vehicular diversion route using the local road network. This document is for information only. However, if you have any concerns about this proposal, please contact John Alford (trafficteam@dorsetcc.gov.uk) by Wednesday 03 January 2018.
