What is going to happen to the X10 bus when Station Road in Stalbridge is closed? The short answer is that no one seems to have any idea, but Stalbridge Info is going to find out tomorrow morning (wish us luck!) by phoning Dorset (and Somerset) Highways departments and The 'latest' entity that operates the X10 service through Stalbridge. Station Road is due to be closed for 'essential' works, which is a welcome thing (it looks like a WW2 bombed airfield strip at the moment) but when the Highways dept issued their notice to say that the road would be closed 24 hours a day on weekdays, between 17th and 28th September they neglected to mention what would happen to the route of buses. There is nothing on the website for X10 either - we have spent an hour trying to find any info there. We even filled in a contact form request for information to be told after filling in that our request would be handled speedily, within the next 14 days or so. Not good enough! we here you cry... Anyway, to cut a long journey short, we will be on the phone on your behalf tomorrow morning, trying to find out what will happen to your bus, and will let you know as soon as we do. Wish us luck - I think we're going to need it! If you would like to try and find out for yourselves and (please let us know) you can call Jason Loibl - Highways dept 'Site Agent', Dorset Highways on 01305 228100, or First Bus 0345 646 0707 0700-1900 Mon-Fri 0900-1700 Weekends and bank holidays.

I have always found Mr. Aled Williams of First Bus very helpful in matters to do with Stalbridge. Comments are closed.
