SCARS is officially supported by Macmillan. Stalbridge Cancer and Recovery Support is now supported by MACMILLAN. Macmillan supports independent cancer support groups and organisations such as SCARS across the UK. Cancer support groups like SCARS give you the chance to talk to others who can understand what you are going through. SCARS (Stalbridge Cancer & Recovery Support) is a local organisation set up by Tracy White in September 2014. As a cancer survivor herself, Tracy decided to set up SCARS with the sole aim of offering a safe and confidential environment to anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, is a survivor, carer friend or family so that they could feel supported and not alone. The group meet on the last Friday of every month at The Hub, Station Road, Stalbridge (free car park to the right of the building) from 2pm - 4pm. We welcome people of all ages and you do not need to reside in Stalbridge to attend. Members provide advice, emotional and practical support where needed along with other information on benefits, other support groups or general details and can provide leaflets and information from many cancer charities free of charge. If you feel unable to attend the Group but would like advice, support or help then please contact Tracy White on the details provided on this page or via the website as a home visit or an informal coffee locally can also be arranged. SCARS is a self funding support group offering companionship and friendship to anyone diagnosed with cancer, a survivor of cancer, friends or family who feel they could benefit from the support of others who have been touched by a cancer diagnosis. If you require any further information do contact contact.scars@gmail.com or telephone Tracy White, Founder/Chairperson on 07834 996473.
