Stalbridge Hall Management Committee Trustees Report 2017 Reg. Charity No 301177 The Annual General Meeting of the Committee was held on 23rd May 2017 at 7.30pm Objectives of the Charity: For the purpose of a village hall for use of the inhabitants of Stalbridge and neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions and in particular for use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. Area of benefit: Stalbridge and Neighbourhood Maintenance and updating has continued through the year. The kitchen has been redecorated and we have purchased 10 new folding tables to replace ones damaged, we have also purchased a freezer and up to date computer. The final part of the electrical upgrade work to comply with regulations has now been completed with other minor repairs. The marking out of the car park has now organized parking spaces to its maximum. We have now paid off most of the water bill occurred with an undiagnosed leak. The Hall now provides free broadband for all its users. Future improvements for the next year are revamping the toilets, providing a baby changing area, replacing some of the stage curtains and building more storage areas. The main hall, lounge area and passage way will soon be redecorated and some of the internal doors replaced. Fund raising to help with these projects has continued this with a healthy return of over £10,000. The Trustees have had tremendous help from members and friends, Thanks to everyone On the financial front the trustees have decided to keep a reserve amount of £4,000 on deposit to cover unexpected expences, this year general income over general expenditure has risen £1,000 due mainly to our increase of letting charges, although there has been a reasonable increase in total lettings.
