Shedding a few tiers this Christmas

Yule be amazed how many lovely Christmas presents you can buy without leaving Stalbridge! So, as we head towards 'Lock Pick 2.0' on December 2nd let's hope we are in the lowest Christmas tier so we can all benefit from being able to do some Christmas shopping right here in Stalbridge.
So whether its perfume from Stalbridge Pharmacy, beautiful hand made gifts from Williams Florist, a jar of something special from the deli at Else Butchers or a toy from Dikes there's loads of choice in Stalbridge shops this Christmas.

Reginald Scott, a Stalbridge resident

As Stalbridge commemorates those who died in wars we remember Reginald Scott, a resident of Stalbridge who fought in World War Two. Please watch this short film to the end. Our thanks go to Stalbridge Choir for their beautiful rendition of "Eternal Father", a poignant song that goes with our story of a young Stalbridge man in the throws of the Second World War.

Help is at hand

Stalbridge Helpers returns for the new lockdown period. The scheme, run by volunteers from the local community was set up during the first lockdown to help people with getting their shopping or medication. You can now call on them again from Thursday 5th November.

So lockdown Mark 2 is pending and we are all but ready!!!
We have a swish new Restaurant Takeaway Menu for Saturday evenings to tempt you with, as you can see on our menu below!
We have even included by popular request- beer battered gluten free fish and chips this time, not just any old fish and chips but with homemade Beer battered cod, (made with GF beer) Margot's own mushy peas with fresh mint.
A fish and chips would not be complete without a lush flavoursome tartare sauce which of course we make too!
After the popularity of our shaved sirloin steak baguette with garlic mushrooms and a creamy Dorset blue vinny dressing last weekend we have included that to our new menu too.
Finally and only finally cause I could talk the dirty language of food with you all night, lets talk DIRTY FRIES, let me tell you they are quite a thing!
If you haven't tried them then you really must give em' a go! We have developed our very own special recipe to make them our own!
So as you can see we have some seriously delicious suppers going on!
These are not your average takeaways, we really care about what we are serving up and making them in our kitchen here at TaT HQ! Restaurant standard meals with provenance for you to take home!
So when can you order you ask??
Well we kick off this coming Saturday the 7th November and we serve from 6-8 pm.
Don't wait until Saturday night to order though, give us a ring anytime before to place your order.
We are in our café cooking from 8am-12 noon daily (except Sundays), so you can place your order, choose your perfect time slot for collection and even pay if you want to get it done and out the way!

Stalbridge Legion Offer

Stalbridge Royal British Legion club have a £2 a pint offer until Wednesday evening. Due to lockdown they are selling real ale, Guinness, cider and lager at £2 a pint. Takeaway or drink in.
Open this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9pm. When it's gone, it's gone. Stalbridge RBL has a bar, snooker, pool, a skittles alley, a jukebox - always a friendly atmosphere and always open to all. Lots of space, lovely comfortable chairs and covered patio.

New website for Stalbridge History

Stalbridge History Society has a new website! Designed and edited by Ian Semple, the new site will be developed over time to be a wonderful resource for anyone interested in the History of Stalbridge and its people. The site already contains some interesting facts and photos and includes a regular feature 'Hilary's Diary', a news section and a gallery of old photos of Stalbridge.
