SCARS (Stalbridge Cancer & Recovery Support) is a local organisation set up by Tracy White in September 2014. As a cancer survivor herself, Tracy decided to set up SCARS with the sole aim of offering a safe and confidential environment to anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, is a survivor, carer friend or family so that they could feel supported and not alone. The group meet on the last Friday of every month at The Hub, Station Road, Stalbridge (free car park to the right of the building) from 2pm - 4pm. We welcome people of all ages and you do not need to reside in Stalbridge to attend. Members provide advice, emotional and practical support where needed along with other information on benefits, other support groups or general details and can provide leaflets and information from many cancer charities free of charge.

Arms open or folded?

13/6/2018

So what happened to The Stalbridge Arms? Well, since we last spoke to you the process of planning, architects, arranging trades etc has taken some time, as it normally does with listed buildings and conservation areas. But we haven't been sitting around with our Arms folded (so to speak)....we've purchased, renovated and opened another one of our pubs....The Star at Star, which opened on 11th May near the Mendip Hills in Somerset. And the good news is... You're next, Stalbridge! The full renovation of The Star at Star took less than two months so as soon as the starting pistol fires for The Stalbridge Arms we will be 'Bolting' to the finish line in record time!
In the meantime why not have a look at our new pub, The Star at Star and perhaps even pay us a visit while you wait for your new Stalbridge pub to be finished? And hopefully soon we will be able to welcome you with Open Arms!
