Oakleigh Lodge is a new Holiday Home currently nearing completion and situated in Stalbridge in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside. Stalbridge Community Shop is a new venture coming to the town, with plans to distribute proceeds to various organisations within Stalbridge. The plan is to open their doors on Saturday 26th June from 9am to 12 noon and then to the following opening times: Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 12 noon. In order to achieve their aims they do need a team of volunteers and so are looking for people who might be able to help by doing a shift or two. Shifts would be 9am to 12.30pm or 12.30pm to 4pm on weekdays and the Saturday shift would be from 9am to 12 noon. If you are interested in helping then please call Jackie Pitman on 01963 364068. Guggleton Farm Arts will be exhibiting as Venue 71 during Dorset Art Weeks, which runs from Saturday 22nd May to Sunday 6th June 2021. Thyme after Time Café in Stalbridge is excited to be playing host for Dorset Art Weeks to "A Monkey and 3 Photographers"- a group of local artists and photographers who will be exhibiting at the café from Saturday 22nd May to Sunday 6th June. TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT NOTICE, VARIOUS ROADS, STALBRIDGE DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users. The Notice comes in to operation between 07:00 until 17:00 on 17th May 2021 and will remain in force for 5 days, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21st May 2021. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works. The effect of this Notice is as follows: [1] To impose temporary road closure on Various Roads as stated; [i] Jarvis Street from the junction with Station Road to the junction with Lower Road [ii] Gold Street from the junction with A357 High Street to Grove Lane [iii] Wood Lane from the junction with A357 Thornhill Road to the junction with Barrow Hill. Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section. [2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway Various Roads as stated; [i] Jarvis Street from the junction with Station Road to the junction with Lower Road [ii] Gold Street from the junction with A357 High Street to Grove Lane [iii] Wood Lane from the junction with A357 Thornhill Road to the junction with Barrow Hill. They need donations of, for example, nearly new clothes, shoes, toys, soft toys with CE labels attached, CDs, DVDs, paper back books etc. The Stalbridge Community Shop will be based in the old Candys Newsagents on the other side of the road from Stalbridge Pharmacy in the High Street. They are looking forward to opening their doors in June!
