Dorset Youth Association’s reach across the county encompasses over 48 youth clubs and groups spread throughout rural Dorset; a busy Young People’s Advice & Information Centre in Dorchester; targeted work with children, young people and families focussing on health, sport and improved wellbeing; and informs over 300 professionals in the voluntary and community sector.
Dorset Youth Association has been supporting clubs, groups and individuals since 1943 and recently celebrated its 70th Anniversary in the presence of HRH The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO.
As the need of young people in Dorset changes, Dorset Youth Association is evolving to meet these needs, through volunteering projects, national and international expeditions, emotional and practical support to remain in or further their education or find work opportunities, promoting equal opportunities and diversity, and providing the support needed to help inspire young people and raise their aspirations. Potatoes are cheap as chips to buy, but only a few can turn them into magical sticks of delight...
In our humble opinion there are only two purveyors of fine chips within a short distance from the centre of Stalbridge. The first is Stalbridge Fish and Chip Shop. Click on the button below for more info.
The second centre of excellence for chips is Something Else Fishy in Milborne Port. Well worth a short drive for your chip fix. They also have a wonderful seafood restaurant above the shop. Click on the button below for more info.
After a day out at one of Dorset's beautiful beaches you might want something more than the lovely Fish n Chip suppers available, before you head back home. Here are some links to Seaside Restaurants and Cafes at Dorset Beaches which are either at the beach side or a short walk from the beach. Some of them you might not even know exist, and we've done the "surfing" (so you don't have to!) to find out where they are and what they offer. What's in a name?
Restaurants throughout the years have come up with quirky names to attract customers to their restaurants, but here in Dorset it's the food that sells the venue. So say goodbye to Thai Tanic, Pitta Pan, Tequila Mockingbird, Wok this way, Lord of the Fries, The Codfather, Lord of the Wings and Lox, Stock and Bagel, and welcome to Dorset's Boringly Named Restaurants and Gastro Pubs!
Have you heard of South Street Kitchen? Angola 76?, Tamburino Gold?, The Stapleton Arms? ....No? Then it's time to have a look at the Stalbridge Info Guide to Restaurants near Stalbridge. Just click on the pic above...

The Village of Stalbridge has 2 all-weather surface tennis courts, situated in the scenic surroundings of the Stalbridge Playing fields, just off Park Grove.
The Tennis Club is run by a committee which meets annually for the A.G.M., usually in April, and is open to all members of the public.
The Club is actively recruiting new members and would especially welcome any members who wish to serve on the committee.
The tennis season runs for 12 months from May 1st when the lock on the courts is changed. Notices are placed around the village and on the Tennis Club notice board (adjacent to the courts), advising when subscriptions are due and the cost of annual membership. Upon joining a security key is issued, which unlocks the gate and the toilet block.
Members can play at leisure although certain 'On Court' rules apply.
The tennis club does not run a booking system.
