From 29th March 2021 Stalbridge Tennis Courts will re-open to its members in accordance with the new Government Guidelines.
Single and doubles play is permitted and the rule of 6 will apply. For full details of the current national regulations see www.lta.org.uk/coronavirus The Village of Stalbridge has 2 all-weather surface tennis courts, situated in the scenic surroundings of the Stalbridge Playing fields, just off Park Grove. The Tennis Club is run by a committee which meets annually for the A.G.M., usually in April, and is open to all members of the public . The Club is actively recruiting new members and would especially welcome any members who wish to serve on the committee. The tennis season runs for 12 months from May 1st. Notices are placed around the village and on the Tennis Club notice board (adjacent to the courts), advising when subscriptions are due and the cost of annual membership. Upon joining a security key is issued, which unlocks the gate . Members can play at any time, although certain 'On Court' rules apply. The tennis club does not run a booking system. Membership fees for 2021/22 are: Family £30 Single £20 Junior (Under 18) £10 All players must be members of Stalbridge Tennis Club. New subscriptions are due on 1st May. Anyone who is not a member who wishes to play from 29th March can do so by joining. The Government has outlined a 4 step Roadmap for easing the current lockdown. Their plan is to allow people to gradually spend more time outside and mixing with people.
They plan to do this in 4 steps. With each step you will be able to do more things and meet more people. They will only move from one step to the next if fewer people are catching COVID-19. A combined Ladies, Gents and Disabled toilet facility at Station Road Car Park in Stalbridge will open to the public on Monday 8th March. This facility, refurbished by Stalbridge Town Council, has been fitted with a number of features for your safety and health, including a touchless hand sanitiser, touchless soap dispenser, touchless sink tap and touchless flush mechanism, all controlled by sensors. The new 'Blue Loo' will be open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 4.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
