Stalbridge Fish and Chip shop is re-opening on Tuesday 2nd March 2021 at 5pm! Their opening times are as follows: They are closed on Sundays and Mondays and then open at the following times on Tuesday to Saturday:
Tuesday from 5.00pm to 8.30pm
Wednesday from 5.00pm to 8.30pm
Thursday from 12 noon to 1.45pm and from 5.00pm to 8.30pm
Friday from 12 noon to 1.45pm and from 5.00pm to 8.30pm
Saturday from 12 noon to 1.45pm and from 5.00pm to 8.30pm

Stalbridge History Society's new facebook group has attracted nearly 300 new members since it started promoting its new format a couple of weeks ago. Spearheaded by Ian Semple and Jacqui Wragg the page features well researched and often new information about the History of Stalbridge and members are sending in their contributions and enquiries almost every day. This includes 'never-before-seen-photographs' being unearthed and fascinating new insights into the history and people of Stalbridge through the ages. Did you know that Stalbridge has its own brewery? Wriggle Valley Brewery has been in Stalbridge since 2017. They have an offer running this week - WRIGGLE OF THE WEEK (aka bargain time) from now until close on Saturday 6th Feb.

"Wriggle Valley Brewery was originally started by Chris Clark in 2014 in his garage in Ryme Intrinseca. He moved the brewery to the current premises in Stalbridge in 2017 where he
was joined by Matthew Glide as an assistant brewer. In November 2020 it was time for the assistant to become the master and Matthew took the brewery on... in the middle of a pandemic. Perfect timing of course.

We brew small batches of beer to exacting standards, and regularly test drive each beer!

We have a passion for making 'big tasting beer' and always have something interesting in stock. We are not fans of 'insipid ale'.

As well as supplying pubs, farm shops and off licences, we also sell direct to the public from our premises, and can deliver within a 20 mile radius of the brewery, or further by arrangement.

We have a bottle shop at the brewery and, in normal/non-Covid times (whatever that is) a taproom.

We are proud of the beer we make. We currently brew 5 core beers plus some seasonal specials.

Game of Cones, Season 2021: Episode 3. This epic road closure drama streams live from Thursday 28th Jan to Wednesday 3rd Feb....ish on the A30 Milborne Port/Oborne border. There is a diversion route in place but if you're not a professional rally driver you are allowed to plot your own sensible scenic route. Here is the notice and the map from Dorset council.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A30 CRACKMORE, OBORNE
DORSET COUNCIL has made a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A30 CRACKMORE, OBORNE between the County boundary and Milborne Wick Lane, a distance of approximately 1045metres. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 January 2021 between 09:00 and 16:00 and remain in force for five days, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 3 February 2021.
This Notice will enable Dorset Council to carry out surfacing works.
Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependant. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed section.
