Stalbridge Info Community Website reached a significant milestone at the end of December when the total page views topped the one million mark! We have nothing to compare it to, but one million page views from nearly a quarter of a million unique visitors seems like a pretty decent figure to us, considering we are the smallest town in Dorset and bearing in mind that this figure was achieved over the last two years. So we would like to thank everyone who has used Stalbridge Info and helped us make it a useful resource for the Community of Stalbridge.....all 244,508 of you! A new date with a different inspector has been offered for 12th February and the hall has been provisionally booked while all necessary steps are taken to inform interested parties. If you know of anyone who was planning to be there but may have not seen this message can you please let thm know. ArtsReach Touring Theatre Presents " A Barnes Supper" at Stalbridge Hall on Saturday 23rd February at 7.00pm. Alongside a feast of local fayre, The Ridgeway Singers and Band led by Tim Laycock and Phil Humphries will perform traditional songs collected across the County by the Hammond brothers, play dance tunes from the repertoire of Blackmore Vale fiddler Benjamin Rose, perform a special two part arrangement of Barnes' Linden Lea and recite some of the poems that keep alive the rich dialect of Dorset. Dialect poet William Barnes relished the country dances, folksongs and carols of Dorset, and often wrote about community celebrations, where music was a key part of the proceedings.
Tickets at £18 include a light Dorset supper served throughout the performance. Telephone booking: Williams Florist 01963 362355.
