Our roving photographer Carolyn Roden went back to Harpitts Plantation in Stalbridge this May, and Wood You Believe it? there were still Bluebells!
"It has been a while since I visited the Plantation woods on Barrow Hill and to my surprise, the bluebells were still out and the perfume was beautiful. These woods are such a tranquil place so close to our town, I always feel refreshed after being there". - Carolyn Roden

"Many of us bypass 'weeds' as if they have no value or beauty but if you look deeply into them, there is such a perfection there. Each flower, each leaf is worked with the same amount of love from the rain and the sun as our garden plants and the details are stunning. I love cultivated plants as much as anyone but next time you see a patch of weeds, stop and look, enjoy and lighten your day." - Carolyn Roden

Our roving photographer Carolyn Roden has been out in the deep midwinter dodging the mud slingers of Stur Trailway...
"There was snow on my car the morning I decided to see how Stur Trailway was coping in mid-January and as you would expect, the puddles were big and very muddy. It was best to give cyclists a wide berth or get a covering of muddy spots from head to toe. There were blues skies, heavy black clouds, mini-rainbows and squeaky fresh air. It was glorious." - Carolyn Roden

"Imagine being able to hear frost forming on the landscape. Each blade of grass, leaf and muddied rut is blessed with the sheer beauty of the frost fairy. It reminds me of an artist painting each curve, each detail in the most miraculous paint." - Carolyn Roden Our roving photographer Carolyn Roden took this beautiful cloudscape while on an early winter walk down Wood Lane in Stalbridge.
